Lanjarón is located in the very foothills of Sierra Nevada, which guarantees a cool and pleasant climate for summer. It is crossed by a series of ravines with beautiful understories where they have adapted one of their parks: Municipal Park “El Salao”, located at the entrance of the town next to the Tourist Office.
It owes its name to the flavor of its ferruginous waters that fall from the ravine, it is the green lung of the municipality presided by several species of eucalyptus and always accompanied by the continuous passage of the river water “Salao”.
At the end of the park we find a descent to a picnic area opened in 2012 where the river is present with a stone fountain and flows into a path that connects with the ruins of the Arab Castle of Lanjarón.
The Salao Park is a place that creates an intimate environment harmonized by the sound of water and birds, a place to enjoy the tranquility and nature that offers us a place full of tourist and cultural activities for our visitors, such as the Flamenco Festival in July or the Rock Festival at the end of August.
El Salado Park is located in the Granada town of Lanjarón, from which you can access the limestone rock that houses the famous and emblematic castle of Arab origin of Lanjarón by means of a walk of about 35 minutes that is well worth it, since they will be able to enjoy the privileged environment that surrounds them.
Lanjarón offers us the possibility of walking through its streets, knowing the wide gastronomy and enjoying wonderful views. A tourist city that has many monuments and leisure spots, but also natural areas such as Parque El Salado, where we will arrive walking from Lanjarón Rural.
